Jigsaw

A jigsaw is a cooperative learning strategy that enables each student of a “home group” to specialize in one aspect of a learning unit. Students then meet with members of the other groups to share their information and receive information from other groups.

In the Classroom:
  • Teaching any content/mechanics of literature
  • Sharing views on the reading/viewing/listening of a text
  • Comparing readings of different texts

ELA Curricular Outcomes:
  • Consider Others Ideas (1.1.2)
  • Cooperate with others (5.1.1)
  • Participate in group inquiry (3.1.3)
